GROW is an independent 501c3 originated from the IFMA Diversity: Scholarship and Mentoring Committee of IFMA Silicon Valley.  Its mission is to help the facilities profession grow to better reflect and sustain the communities in which we live and work.  The 2013 Block Party celebrates the launch of GROW to support the charitable interest of the Facilities Management Profession.

GROW arises from the words Guidance, Resources, Opportunities, and Work.  GROW is a 501c3 charity incorporated in California to provide outreach, scholarships, and mentoring from facility management professionals to youth and young adults from diverse communities.

All tickets and sponsorships are tax deductable and proceeds will go towards scholarships and education for building our future leaders of the built environment.

The Reinvention of Silicon Valley

The Registry Presents: The Reinvention of Silicon Valley.

In partnership with IFMA-Silicon Valley, BOMA, CREW and NAIOP

SPEAKERS:

William Witte, President and Managing Director, Related California.
John Hankey, Vice President Real Estate, Nvidia.
Samuel Hamilton, Managing Director, Acquisitions, Divco West.

OVERVIEW

San Francisco has enjoyed its recent king-of-tech moniker. Until the end of 2012, facts on the ground seemed to support that. Everything changed in 2013.

In February, visual computing behemoth Nvidia announced an architecturally significant headquarters in Santa Clara. A month later, Samsung unveiled plans for a nearly 700,000-square-foot U.S. headquarters on North First Street in San Jose. Related Companies proposed a 230-acre development in Santa Clara, and Divco West and partners acquired a large chunk of Silicon Valley’s Mission West portfolio.

With the construction of the San Francisco 49ers new Santa Clara stadium already in full swing, Silicon Valley is doing what it does best: re-inventing itself.

Golf Tournament

IFMA-SILICON VALLEY 2013 GOLF TOURNAMENT

Friday, May 17th at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club, San Jose
Shotgun Start at 12:30 p.m.

GOLD TOURNAMENT SPONSOR: Pacific Maintenance Company

Our Golf Tournament raises funds to support the Chapter’s Community Outreach Programs

Please be aware that we will be sharing the road  with the Amgen Tour of CaliforniaBike Trials on May 17th, and we are advising all Golf Tournament Participants to allow some extra time to get to the tournament; and to be aware that McKean Road itself will be closed while we are all playing golf between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m.

Very specific details of the road closure, an alternate route, and a Golf Course Access Pass have been sent to all sponsors and players and are available for download under the highlights on our main homepage www.ifmasv.org

In brief, in order to ease travel worries when headed to Cinnabar it is suggested that tournament participants do the following:
1. Use the alternate route  from Almaden Expressway to McKean Road. This will allow almost uninterrupted travel up to 12:30 pm.
2. If using a traditional route on Bailey Ave., allow at least an extra 20 minutes of travel time.
3. Plan on being in the facility earlier that the 12:30 pm start time.
4. Do not plan on using the US 101 ramps to Bailey after 12:15 pm.
5. Place the dash pass provided in your player/sponsor packet on your windshield to assist police with allowing you through roadblocks.
