Deep Dive Breakfast: Mergers, Acquisitions, & Divestitures Challenges to the FM

This month’s Deep Dive Breakfast will be a talk by Eric Lee, Facilities Manager with Cushman & Wakefield at Google and longtime IFMA member.   Eric has extensive experience in Mergers and Acquisitions from the viewpoint of a Facilities Professional.  He will share strategies and insights with an emphasis on the vantage point of a firm that has recently acquired another company.

Topics will include:

  • The exploratory phase. Other than office space, what does the existing site(s) comprise of? Data Centers, IDF Rooms, labs?

  • Square footage of property

  • Current headcount

  • How many sites and are they leased properties or owned?

  • Dependencies

  • Communication to the employees of both companies involved

  • Determining moves


 

 

SPEAKER:

ERIC LEE- Facilities Manager for Cushman Wakefield at Google

Eric is a Facilities Manager for Cushman & Wakefield at Google. He manages building infrastructures and projects. His career in facility management has all been at high tech firms in the Silicon Valley where his primary responsibilities include oversight of mission critical systems.

Eric has been a long time IFMA member holding several leadership roles including chapter president at the Silicon Valley Chapter. As an active member, he has been the event photographer and meeting host for several events and continues to support this group and other facilities related professional groups. He believes groups like IFMA need to reach out to the younger generation and get them to consider a career in FM.

His education background includes Facilities Management Certificate - UC Berkeley Extension, BA in Ethnic Studies - CSU East Bay and holds the credential of CFM (Certified Facility Manager) through IFMA.
