Employee Centric and Digitally Driven Workplace Strategy

Terry Tran of Genentech will share Genentech’s innovative workplace strategy called Neighborhood Work Environment that developed key elements (social, technology and places) which enabled successful work. Consistent with the main theme of the Chapter for 2018, Elizabeth Duke if iOffice will speak on employee centric workplace technology tools that are supportive of the culture of operational excellence and collaborative workplace management.

Major take away for this meeting will be to show how NEW and use of robust workplace technology tools:

*   Enable employees to make choices about how and where they do their best work, whether that’s on campus or working remotely
*   Support collaborative and individual work within and across neighborhoods and geographies
*   Help employees work more productively using common set of technology tools

Terry Tran- Head of Neighborhood Work Environment @ Genentech

Terry Tran is the Head of Adoption & Engagement, Neighborhood Work Environments at Genentech and has spearheaded an innovative workplace engagement program since 2014. She is a very enthusiastic, results oriented and innovative self-starter with over ten years of experience and a passion for developing programs, people and processes to support workplace transformation and organizational changes. Before joining Genentech, she was the Platform Manager at Yahoo through JLL. She also worked as a Solutions Consultant for Kronos for a year and the Santa Clara University as Business Technology Applications Manager for two years.

She graduated from the Santa Clara University, Leavey School of Business with an MBA, Managing Technology & Innovation, Leading People and Organizations and a BS, Chemistry with emphasis in Biochemistry.


Elizabeth Duke- Principal @ iOffice

Author and Workplace Technology Advocate, Elizabeth Dukes is the Co-Founder and CMO of iOFFICE, the leading Integrated Workplace Management Software (IWMS) software serving the Digital Workplace. Elizabeth champions iOFFICE’s mission to use technology to empower the workforce and the Smart Workspaces that serve them.

With more than two decades in the field, Elizabeth and Don Traweek co-founded iOFFICE after working of Pitney Bowes Management Services, a service company that provided outsourced workplace management solutions to the Fortune 1000. iOFFICE serves more than 2.4M users worldwide. Co-author of Wide Open Workspace, and a sought-after speaker at IFMA Worldwide, CoreNet, Future Office, and Realcomm/CoreTech. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Texas, Austin.

Elizabeth is a wife and mother of two teenage daughters. She is actively involved with the community through Agape Development and the Garden Club of Houston and supporting her alma mater through The University of Texas Chancellor’s Council and UT Austin’s President’s Associates. She enjoys staying fit, spinning and practicing yoga, but is most happy being outdoors hiking through beautiful places.

David Gray, a Senior Vice President in brokerage at Colliers International, has been assisting companies with scaling their Commercial Real Estate for 32 years. 95% of these companies are headquartered in the expanding Silicon Valley. Similar to all submarkets attracting talent to the workplace, the 450+ lease and sales transactions required a built environment that reaffirms the needs of the business stakeholders.

The software tool and business metric developed by David calibrates how aligned the workplace is with stakeholders’ criteria and charts the alignment along the annual corporate real estate costs per person for the best outcome.
