On March 22, IFMA Silicon Valley will have a panel of security experts to present three different aspects of current security issues. The first presentation is on Data Mining Physical Security Systems, and how to use this information for facility services. The second presentation is on Protecting your Travelers, where we will discuss the protocol and procedures to protect valuable information for employees while they travel. Finally, the third presentation will cover the latest updates on Cyber Security titled Cyber Security and What Physical Security Should Know.

Guy Morgante, President Managed Services at Northland Controls
As President at Norland Controls of the Managed Services Division, Guy launched GSOC Monitoring. He has built a team and infrastructure to solve the security industry’s last-mile by truly integrating technology with operations in a managed service model. Northland’s Managed Services provides GSOC security operations on a worldwide basis for small and large companies. While building Northland Managed Service business, he also led the Northland Controls team that implemented a new access control and video management platform at Apple, worldwide.
Guy has been involved in building Services and Business Development organizations for over 35 years at high tech companies such as Aspect Communications, Informix, Oracle and SAIC. For the 5 years just prior to Northland Controls, Guy was involved in the Security Industry as Vidient Systems’ (video analytics) VP of Global Professional Services. While there he was responsible for all implementation and integration services, including international critical infrastructure security initiatives.
Chris Navaral, Global Operations Center Manager at Salesforce
Chris Naraval is the Salesforce Global Operations Center (GO Center) Manager. Chris has been in the security industry for 8 years. Prior to that he spent 7 years in Environmental Health & Safety. Chris has designed multiple operations centers and developed a number operations center programs customized to the needs of special clients. In 2014 he was awarded the G4S “Coin of Excellence” for his design and implementation of an innovative global security operations center program. Chris has a bachelors in Marketing Management from Cal State Hayward and he considers himself a creative out of the box thinker who likes to use unorthodox methods to resolve problems and creating efficiencies.
Rodney Thayer, Cyber Security Consultant
Rodney Thayer is a network security practitioner specializing in physical security systems. His “convergence engineering” practice focuses on evaluation, specification, and successful deployment of network-attached physical security systems. He has a background in software development specializing in network protocols and cryptography. He has written, lectured, hacked, and developed standards around networking, cryptography, and embedded systems. He has decades of experience in the computer business and has a variety of clients including large end users, manufacturers, designers, and integrators.
