Chapter Meeting- Managing Physical and Cyber Security in a Hybrid Workplace

In this session we will discuss the impact the initial COVID-19 lockdown had on both cyber and physical security, the technologies highlighted through the lockdown, and what can be leveraged while returning to the office or those still working from home. This begs the question: what were the most substantial impacts of the lock downs and how did we adapt?



Josh Akre, Performance Engineering Manager at Northland Controls

Josh Akre has 8 years of experience in the security industry starting as a technician in the field and quickly moving to systems side and into professional services management. He has grown several teams within client spaces and has managed dynamic projects-based teams. Mr. Akre currently holds Lenel, CCure, Genetec, and S2 certifications along-side his AMA-CPM, SIA CSPM and M.B.A. He maintains a growth mindset and constantly seeks advice and material to improve his skillsets.


Nandita Bery, Director Information Security at Equinix

Nandita Bery has been a security awareness professional for 10 years, educating and training people in large global organizations from finance to media and entertainment. She started her career building applications and software products for 15 years which gave her unique insight into software vulnerabilities and how they can be exploited to steal data or cause disruption. Joining Equinix a year ago, she has been able to apply all these skills into establishing an industry leading Security Awareness function whose mission is to educate, empower and enlighten employees on current trending threats and provide security best practices. Rene Jackson, Manager Corporate Real Estate at Equinix (Moderator)

René Jackson is a professional member of IFMASV and co-chair of the Program Development Committee.  She has over 25 years’ experience in facility and project management.  She was a Project Manager at AT&T for several years and she is now Manager for Equinix, the worlds digital infrastructure company.
